hello reefers!!

I recently bought a pair of Lyretails and was wondering if I need a 3rd for a harem or will they turn into a male/female pair on their own?

One will turn into a male, but anthias don't form bonded prs. Rather gender is based on social queues in their hierarchy. A dominant fish chases/displays/bullies subordinate members of the group. However, with only 2 fish one will constantly dominate the other, often to the eventual demise to the subordinate fish. But, adding a third specimen to 2 existing fish won't work out well for the new addition.
