Im planning on driving down which is about a 5hr drive. If i just purchase on the day i leave will keeping frags in a specimen jar and then just adding those jars to a styrofoam cooler be sufficient?

Ha! We made sure to ask Marc to put some info in on traveling with corals, since he is a pro ;)

MASNA will have BAO transport for sale at MACNA, and BAO has a booth with more that are not MACNA labeled available - but quantities are certainly limited to what can be delivered during the time. Any clear container is
"TSA approved" but you have to be able to do two things with it to get it through a TSA security checkpoint:
1. It must be CLEAR so they can see what is inside
2. You MUST be able to OPEN IT for them, as they have to do a vapor test of the water to be sure it is safe

Be prepared for a full cavity search as well when you take your corals through. By taking exception, you've basically opted in for every search they have in their booklet.

A small styro or cooler in your checked bags saves you the full TSA search.
