Hey all! Any favorite macros to add into your display tank? I’m a huge fan of the halymenia stipitata. Absorbs nutrients and grows like CRAZY! I bought some in April and it is now in both tanks plus I’ve harvested and sold it twice… and it makes a hilarious hat for my tuxedo urchin…. But it grows SO fast!

July 7 to now-

I think I had the illegal caulerpa (in ca) before. It took over my entire tank and flux rx had to be used lol. When I transfered tanks I still had some , tangs ate it instantly

Oh wow! I was just making a joke about how everything seems to be known to cause cancer by the state of California 🤣 is it invasive and somebody just threw it into the ocean? Kind of like lionfish in Florida?

You got It , survives in the cold water and has taken over the ecosystem so yes lol it’s like Floridas lionfish. It suffocates anything else crazy stuff.

There are legit pamphlet and petition campaigns in the state here to request that local Restaurants serve lionfish to increase demand and therefore impetus for fishing for them
