I maybe getting a Maculiceps Tang but I read they do not live long, the threads are older so I am looking for an update.

Has anyone had one of these for several years?

That is what I was reading, was hoping someone here has one and can give feedback. Alot of that information is old so I am not sure how accurate it is anymore.

I have one. He's been in my tank for about a year. Not overly aggressive toward other fish. I did have to stop feeding Fauna Marin because he loves it so much he'd pick at the corals who were fed it. Also eats alot of sand, like as much sand as nori. So I have a lot of sand to blow off my rock work. Also, I don't think he sleeps. I sometimes will check on the tank in the middle of the night and he's out swimming around. I didn't research the fish before I bought it (noob mistake).

Thanks for the feedback. I have a few fish that swim all night. What size tank do you have yours in? What other fish are with it?

I have one and its doing fine. I've had it for about 2 months now. It is about 4 inches and eats everything. When I first put it in my tank, I didn't think it was going to make it as my 6-7 inch Powder Blue just tore it apart. It would not leave it alone. After a few days, they started getting along.

Mine is in a 155 bow front and as he's gotten bigger I've removed a lot of rock so he has plenty of room to swim. He likes when I turn up the mp40s and swims in the current. He's the biggest fish in the tank, also gave a 4" hippo tang, LMB, flame hawk, Midas blenny, chromis x5, firefish x2, bangai cardinal x2, and a Randal goby. No social issues with any of them, probably because he's the biggest one in the tank.

Thanks for the information. This one I am looking at is 7" or so. My biggest issue is the max size, reportedly short lived, and if my powder brown and it will fight. Its coming from another aquarium that it outgrew.
