Do you or have you kept one? Interested in anyone's experience with this fish.

It's a beautiful fish when it's flashing or under white or daylight but under some blue light it's not that impressive. Mine is a jummper he jummped out three times already even tho I have a full creen top Lol

I picked mine off the floor twice. Knocked feed door out and lifted acrylic lid one. He is always skimming the surface and jumping. Agree under blues they don’t show colors except flashing

How big is he and tank size?
It's 5 inches or more and very fat that picture was taking two years ago when I first got it. Tanks is 60x30x21. He is the only wrasse in my system right now but he always flashing toward my anthias Lol He also developed tail streamer now super cool (but not super long yet).

For the past year mine tail streamers are about 3/4”. Bottom one recently seems to be missing a tiny bit

Anyone who has Madagascar wrasse please help to answer the following questions

1. LFS has one about 4" supermale. Do you know the the life expectancy of this guy?
2. Planning to build a vertical walls (15") in all four sides from the surface of the water and 2" top lips (euro braces on top) Would this keep the wrasse from jumping out?

Thanks

Flashers have about a 10 year life. If it’s comfortable in the tank they shouldn’t jump but if they want out they find away or get injured. Flashers are jumpy. I recommend keeping them in big tanks. A 3” flasher takes a 4’ tank so a 6” flasher requires a much bigger tank in my eyes.

From my research and some members from reef2reef said about 5 year life. I hope 10 year life is the case or money is wasted. I saw your video on Madagascar, it is super nice. How long have you had it?

10 years from day one. So 10 years seems to be max for a flasher.
Had one about 2 years but long story. One I have now I only had few months.

Wow 10 years is impressive for a flasher. May I ask any recommended diet?

Thanks
