Sifting through the trove of information out there and committing to a logical path and not seeking confirmation bias helped. I did a few months without lights. COPEPODS and daily phyto (I do weekly phyto now). I’m right next to the tank most of the day. No secret ingredient really.

Setbacks have been minor-ish, but ever present. N and P have always been concerningly low. Have aptasia, but they’re gentiles and remain in the overflow. Only fish loss was a beautiful male watanabae out of the blue 6 mos in. Maybe one or two dying corals on arrival that didn’t rebound (most do). I had a giant NY knicks torch, then a nice grail spontaneously combust in 24 hours in an island of torches doing well. Who knows on that one…

Dry Marco and Arag-Alive sand. I left the light off for -10 weeks and then slow ramp up. I had an ugly phase but it was short lived at 30-45 days.
