Hi Randy

Trying to increase my magnesium levels and just tested using Red Sea test at 790. Added 95 ml of brightwell magnesion product to my 120 gallon tank + 20 gallon sump.

Help!!! Do I need to do massive water change to avoid killing my fish and coral? Please advise I need you expert help here.

Thanks in advance.

Red sea test kit showed 790 before I added 95 ml to increase it. Should I do water changers now or wait until tomorrow and retest?

Luckily for you magnesion isn’t crazy potent. I regularly dose 22ml into my 59 gallon system and it only raises my mag 10ppm. Retest your mag and post your current numbers. With a result that low I get the feeling the test wasn’t 100% accurate

Great 😊

Just completed 10% water change to be on the safe side. I will run another test in 24 hours to see how things look
👀

Thanks

Try a different Magnesium Test and also check your salinity with a CALIBRATED device.

The Mag level you have posted is most likely an error

I agree, very unlikely your magnesium is only 790.

This and your dose only added about 20 ppm mg

Why do companies have to include stupid instructions . Setting up a customer to fail if they try to follow this instruction.

"Always try to maintain the [Mg2+] within a range of +/-10 ppm"

Try the kit on some new salt water. I expect there is an error, which is so common the I do not recommend testing it:
