Magnifica under plasma!

I've added an additional 2, matching, 270 watt plasma fixtures. It's been about 2 weeks since their addition. I am running them for 5 hours a day, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM to start. I'll increase that duration up to 7 hours over time. I am still running my 4 Red Sea Reefled 160's for dawn/dusk ramping as well as some blue supplementation during the day. The tank now reminds me of my old tank in which I ran 250 watt 10K DE halides with actinic blue T5's.
Everything in the tank seems to be acclimating to them very well. SPS growth has taken off. Some Magnifica have moved but all are fuller and coloration is great! I added a baby blue gigantea a few days ago. It's not yet fully inflating but otherwise looks good. I think its still acclimating to the tank/lighting/flow ect..
I am loving the spectrum and the amazing "natural sunlight" shimmer from the plasmas! Fish coloration is amazing too. The chromis just shine when the light hits them right and all the blue damsels really stand out. The colors on the Quoyi parrot are amazing! I wish the video did the tank justice. Let me know what you think!

Yeah, the acros are growing well and have great color even on the sand bed, but I need to move them. It looks too cluttered with them down there. Plus, they are running out of room. The LTA's are really growing fast and will soon take up all that sandbed real-estate.
I'm still working out how I'm going to place/mount those acros up in the aquascape. I think I'm going to get some Tonga branch rock and create thin pillars sticking up into the water column in between some of the Magnifica and mount each acro to the tip of the branch where they can't get stung. They would be growing above or well in front of the Mags, out in open water for the best light and flow.
I've also considered just selling them off and focusing solely on the nems.

Thanks Fishy! I'm sorry, but I can't really recommend any particular supplier of Mags. It's hit or miss no matter who you order from. I've lost about the same percentage of specimens from just about every supplier, even those who advertise here on R2R.

I only rarely order anemones on line but had great luck with @PacificEastAquaculture. You get what you pay for so they are not the cheapest Magnifica around. I got great Mag from Petco also.

Thank you! I love them! I found mine as discounted new/old stock from a horticultural supply company. Ebay has them from time to time. Also check Facebook marketplace.

New video! I've removed some rock to open things up a bit and give the reef a more natural look, removed about 50 rainbow BTA's (on my way to getting most of them out), changed the aquascaping a bit. The Mags are really loving these LEP lights! I'm going to feed them all tomorrow. They look hungry.
Video was taken today at high noon, 5700K lighting. Love that natural sunlight look. Love the shimmer! Be sure to watch in 4K!

I read an article in a reefing magazine some years ago now in which the author stated plasma would be the next big thing in reef lighting. They even showed one running on a tank. However, a plasma light aimed at reef tanks has not arrived.... so far. I do recall they suggested would be expensive but then what reef lighting isn't.

Regarding your Mags. Do they split? Mine has split once on the 4 years I have had it but is showing signs it will do so again. This is what I observed before my Mag split. Part of my Mag stretched across onto the rock next to it during the day and returns to as lights go off at night.

Seems what it is doing is stretching away from the main body slowly getting thinner between each part over time. Then over night the offspring splits from the main body.
