Making action figures tank safe?

Anyone have any experience making action figures tank/reef safe? I'm getting back into the hobby, and am going to have my 65g set up in my game room, which has a Star Wars theme. I'm going back and forth on what to do in the tank, but I'm almost certain I want to have some figures or a medium - large fighter (x-wing, tie, etc) in there with the live rock. Is my best bet to spray it with a clear sealant or is there a better method?

Let me preface by saying that I have never done what you're describing and I personally don't love the idea.

That said, I wouldn't trust a spray sealant to be aquarium safe. Something like a 2 part epoxy is going to dry into an inert, safe coating. You should be able to find clear products, probably for marine use, if you search specifically for it. It's probably going to be brush on, though. You'll want to get a perfect seal, so a couple of coats would be preferable...

Isnt fiber glass resin aquarium safe? I have seen some builds where they use wood bases and sides, and they used total boat 2 part epoxy resin. It dries kind of pinkish clear, that is really the only thing I can think of. The only issue is to get a perfect coat, you would need a sprayer, and put on id guess 4/5 light coats. But something like an xwing is very hard to cover evenly. I think its a cool idea, i might try to make a mold and make an xwing out of the aquarium safe concrete products (what people make custom live rock out of).

That is cool! I saw a picture of a small statue of a woman sunbathing covered in cyphastrea. Probably not appropriate for a family site though.

I have a ceramic skull I'm going to put cyphastrea on.

If it’s ALL plastic, and no screws or metal of any type, why wouldn’t it work? Maybe peel the stickers off if there are any.

Might be more then you want to do but I’ve seen people make a casting then make the finished product out of like ceramic or cement

Check out Polgem’s 1319 Epoxy Coating. It’s a clear, marine safe coating. As far as your X-Wing, don’t forget to take it apart and strip out the spring under R2D2, wiring and motor. Then just super glue it back together with no screws. Good luck and may the Force be with you!
