At the beginning of this thread, I was thinking "maybe I should hire her for my maroon..."

Now I see that all hope is lost

Holy cow can I relate.

We have 2 maroons - in separate tanks cause they hate each other so much.

1 destroys my hand at every chance. The other I had (I thought) gotten to the point that it tolerated my hand - until 2 days ago. Now it's back to darting across my 120g tank to attack before my hand is even in the water.

yikes. Mine at least waits until she sees I'm not feeding before she attacks. Maroons can be a real jerk from what I've read

i suppose. I was hoping to get her a partner but I'm afraid of what she'll do to him

Clearly she has a lot of aggression, but the aggression toward you doesn’t automatically equate to aggression toward a mate (although she could also be aggressive there too). Good luck with whatever you choose!
