Reeead your thread and love the meat and tranchy you have. What did the chemiclean do to your tank to help your zoas? I've got a similar problem with the ones in my tank and can't figure it out.
First is my oompas second pic you can see closed up except for one lil head trying to stay open.

Thanks for all the likes!
The Chemiclean treatment I believe helps with certain strains of bacteria. It really helped my zoas out. The treatment is pretty easy and can be worked into tank maintenance pretty easy. I cleaned my sump and skimmer at the same time.
Those are some really nice frags you have. Are any other corals struggling?
Hope you find your answers!

what do you do for the treatment? like once a month a few days before a water change? i've got a bubbler for fishing or when the power goes out is that good enough for the gas exchange? it says to do a water change after 48 hours is that what you did?

I followed the directions of the box and the advice of others here on the forum. I did not notice any negative effects so I think my airstone and air valved pump were enough. Had to say what is enough though. A bubbler surly wouldn't hurt.
I only have done the treatment once but may do it again because it wasn't hard.
I noticed a change in my zoas the next day and most all turned around by 5 days later. I don't think it would hurt to try. Just make sure you provide as much gas exchange as possible and I think you will be ok!

Photo update! A decent bit of stuff has changed. I took apart the left front rock structure to give the left side more depth. I replaced the rock with a predrilled frag rock with the intention of growing favias on it but we will see what happens lol. Everything is growing good and I’m still trying to get the parameters perfect. Calcium is currently kinda low at a stable 370 but I’m working on raising my mag.
Also new fish! I really like my new yellow coris wrasse but I’m still kinda bummed about unexpectedly loosing a mccoskers wrasse. I am going to try to clean things up and get a full tank shot soon.

So the big news is that I'm getting w new tank. My saltwater friend has decided to take a break from the hobby while possibly planning a major league build. The tank is a 110 gallon custom starphire built by Leemar. I am pretty excited! I am converting one of my spare bedrooms into a work out/ fish room to compromise with the SO.
Here is a pic of the tank as it currently is.

So the new tank is up! Bad news is that this 50 gallon is looking a little rough. I have decided to start to remove all the sps and more tempormental corals to the big tank and make this a low maintance tank. Just haven’t decided yet to do all anemones or softies. Might do species specific or not who knows.
I am struggling with cyano, calerpa, and slight chemistry fluctuations.
Yesterday I did a much needed sump and pump cleaning which had calcium deposite.

Last night I went to clean the frag racks and cut some coral and the water felt pretty warm.

It went from 78/79 to 85. It was fine two days before. Some sps look pretty bad but not died. Everything else seems fine. I feel like a dodged a bullit!

So between my masters program, work, and the new tank this 50 gallon has seen better days. The good thing is that finals are almost done and summer is right around the bend. I will be changing up this tank a ton! Stay tuned.
In the mean time I have started transferring over mainly the sps and my favorite acans to the new tank.
