Male Lyretail Anthias +1

I currently have a female lyretail and would like to get her a male. Can I just add an male Lyretail? What do you think would happen?

Also, I saw what I thought was a male lyretail at my LFS but its fins had red spots on them, they looked very cool, but hadn't seen that before. Was that a lyretail or a different anthias?

I believe there are some regional color various with P. squamipinnis, some males have the red on the fin and some don't. Aggression issues are often a problem with anthias, but it's typically more longterm than short. They may be scarppy at first, then they might accept one another, then things may go downhill, it's a crap shoot.

Make sure you cover your tank when adding another anthia. The initial chase may leave one of them airborne.

If you were to add another female initial aggression would probably be much worse, I wouldn't suggest it with an established female.
