My CBB looked like she was losing scales near one of her pectoral fins. Scared me, since I've dealt with uronema before and know how quickly it progresses, and she's probably my favorite fish in my tank (she follows me around the tank). I have a microscope, so I wanted to confirm for sure that uronema wasn't in play.
After catching her, doing a scrape and confirming it was not uronema (thank God), poor girl was cowering in the rockwork. It broke my heart. Luckily, after a bit, she started coming out more, and did accept the mysis shrimp peace offering I gave her. Hoping for a speedy recovery from what is likely a bacterial infection.
I can never understand how people see "just fish". These creatures are so intelligent and have wonderful personalities
Anyway, what are some interesting stories of your aquatic veterinary medicine dabblings? I've always been so impressed with the medical knowledge this community has, since most professional aquatic vets have to draw info from the hobby, anyway.
