I was wondering if anyone knew the manageable Chlorine levels for a BRS 4 stage RO/DI . From what I have read I think I should be ok but wanted to check. See below for the average chlorine detected by my local water authority. 2.1ppm and looks to be no higher than 2.8ppm

The 4 stage only has 1 carbon block, so try it with a test kit and if doesn’t remove all the chlorine or chloramine, then upgrade the 4 stage with a deluxe kit to make it a 6 stage from brs

Better yet, I just saw that you don’t have the 4 stage yet....
I would call brs and ask them how much will one carbon block remove with your stated average above from the city water

Nope, I do have a 4 stage. The Value Plus edition. But I will call BRS

Ok so I called BRS a couple of days ago, and they said as long as I don't have Chloromine, the 4 Stage will do just fine. I looked at that water report again and could find no mention of Chloromine.

I did buy some test strips. My Chlorine is at 1 and my Total Free Chlorine is 1. I am led to believe you combine them both for the total of chlorine, which in my case is 2ppm.

I'll now run the R/O and see what we get!

Not sure what strips your using but, Total chlorine is the sum of free chlorine and combined chlorine.
This is what I use since I want to know my results in ppb.

Understood. On the strips I was using. there was zero reading after to the RO/DI. Using this
