Managing Humidity

So I just found out that my ReefKeeper Elite is now dead because of corrosion (according to DA). Personally, I don't see any corrosion but it wiped out my entire system so I need to find a way to deal with the humidity.

I'm going to be moving all of my equipment to a somewhat small closet behind my tank. Do you guys think a small dehumidifier would help keep the humidity in there under control? Any suggestions on one to purchase? Any advice would be appreciated so I can avoid another disaster.

If you can, put an exhaust fan in the closet instead. it will save you $$$$$ in electricity in the long run

That may be possible, unfortunately I live in an apartment so I can't do too much cutting!

Any fan moving a good amount air out of from under your sump will prevent most issues. You shouldn't need a dehumidifier in L.A. Just open your windows more.

i run a large dehumidifier and it does a good job.

I do keep the window in the room the aquarium is in cracked most of the time, seems to keep the pH more stable. I'm just worried about having the closet doors closed some of the time.

did you have it in your stand?

I had the modules mounted in the opening of the back of the stand so they weren't really in the stand but more on the back side.
