Hello all,

Wanted to get addition insights on how I should plumb my media reactor and UV sterilizer in my sump cabinet. I've read that media reactor should not flow back to my UV sterilizer but if not then how should I plumb it correctly. Any articles or websites on this?

Best regards,

Best regards,
You can plumb them to two separate valved manifold outlets if they run at incompatible flow rates… or, plumb UV sterilizer prior to media reactor on the same manifold outlet, if flow rates are compatible!

So i would require 2 separate return pumps?

pump to media reactor back out to sump

and

another pump to UV sterilizer and back to tank?

Best regards,

Best regards,
so the UV and the media reactor have incompatible flow rates? (Also, I assume this is sump to sump plumbing?)

This would be the most equipment intensive way to do it… I’m talking about putting a tee, or tees in your return pump plumbing with a valve on each to feed the UV, and media reactor with the return pump!

Alternatively, you can tee the output of one equipment pump to both the UV, and the media reactor!

In a perfect world, though… you’d have a UV and a media reactor which can run at the same flow rate, allowing you to plumb the UV outlet to media reactor inlet and feed with one return pump manifold outlet, or one equipment pump!
