Has anyone used MarinePure blocks? I’m beginning a new build and want to throw one in my sump to begin cycling some media so I have established bacteria to start off the new tank.

Feedback on the block and cycling media for a new build would be appreciated. Thanks!

They certainly work. I’ve used some of the spheres in my sicce HOB on my 40b fish only system for almost two years now. The spheres plus’s the bio media it comes with have allowed me to feed with a shovel with no issues.

there is, however, some anecdotal evidence of the blocks leeching aluminum long term. The trend doesn’t seem to be such that every single person who uses the blocks experiences the leeching, but a decent amount of users do.

I personally was going to use the bricks until my build shifted gears. I’m just going to have a big sump full of rock. But yeah. They work. The leeching issue seems to be a real issue, but I’m not sure if it’s every batch of the media or only some
