I'm just curious as to what pricetag can I put on this colony? Its about 7" across. I know there is section for this stuff, there is no activity on it. I see pricetag for frags between $40-80. What is fair price for the whole colony?

Go with the low end of frag prices. Figure out how much it would be if you made it all into frags. Then Half of that is a starting point.

I dont want to ship it. There is easily 100 frags I can get out of it by today's standards of 3/4" frag. So even at lowest per frag, that $4k half of that is $2000. Isn't it a bit much? I'm thinking in a $1000 dollar range for a fair price.

I agree with 1k. Although you could frag it and sell individual frags for more, it is the work of finding 100 buyers.

I think of it like a used car. You could probably part it out and sell it for a few more dollars, or you could trade it in for a lower set price, at the end of the day it is what level of effort you are willing to do. You could try pricing it at 2k, just might take a long time to sell.

Frags will sell a lot quicker than trying to sell the whole thing I'd think. That or trade it in at the LFS for store credit?

I 100% agree with you. And I can definently sell it in frags for more. But I believe there is alot of effort and know-how to ship corals. And I don't have intentions to do it. I have a colony in my display tank which is just as big as this one. So I really don't need another colony in my frag tank. Want to get rid of it for a fair price locally to someone who can ether triple his money by frag it, or enjoy a huge colony in their display tank. Here is a picture of frag I got several years ago for $75
