Yeah the pulse mode was pretty cool. Let me know what you think of crest mode, as I really don't have anything but rock in there right now, so it is hard to tell which one is better. I really do like the customization of this guy!

The ones u got are sick! I cant waitto get my other btank set up so I can have a piece of my sand-bed for a lot of Blastos. Have always been one of my fav coral. Just dont have room for any right now...

Thanks.. I've had success with blastos before, just haven't seen anything that really catches my eye until I saw this piece... probably the only one I'll get later on is a PPE blasto but that's about it... good luck with your future blasto collection... :)

Thanks again Chris.... but I really need a frag tank so I can clean up the tank more, esp with frags that I'm growing... oh, the joy of having a smaller tank... ;)

were you able to create a little wave on your tank? I think my tank is too short to make the waves but it's cool since I see no other use for any other powerhead by having the Vortech... I'll keep you posted on the how I like the reefcrest mode.. looking forward to seeing what response I get from the corals and fishies... :)

I didn't play with the period of the pulse (it was the default, which seemed pretty quick), but below the water surface you could definitely see the flow/no flow moments. Not sure if the longer wave mode would work better or not. I do think we are too small to get a decent wave. I think I will put my first test subjects in my tank today to make sure there are no issues.

Ok just played with the period. I was able to get a minor wave with shorter pulses. Not sure which one would be better for corals....sounds like a good experiment for us.

youll get the biggest waves in pulse mose with power at 100% and pulse rate all the way down (shortest pulses)

definitely gonna different variations on the setting for each tank... we all have to see what works for our tank and it'll probably take a few months to get that situated... :)

also, wanted to document that the Snowcasso is finally eating.. and eating voraciously with Rod's Food and frozen cyclopeeze... :) :D :)

all the tanks I'm gonna own will cater to F&F wrasses... so yes, my current tank is fully covered... :)

there is no way I'm gonna buy an expensive wrasse if my tank is not covered... actually, I wouldn't recommend buying a wrasse if your tank is not covered... they will find a way to jump out... they can be in the tank for weeks without showing signs of suicide, but next morning, you see 'em on the floor or carpet... :(

alright... did some cleaning yesterday...

28g JBJ
- removed the chaeto on the fuge, cleaned the Tunze Nano skimmer... the Tunze skimmer is doing much more skimming now.. dunno if it's because I took out the chaeto or it's because I cleaned it.. LoLz... also, added new carbon

12g JBJ
- bought some sand 2 days ago, re-aquascaped yesterday and added some test zoas.. so far so good... also, added new carbon...

today.. 11-30-08... will do 10%-15% water change on both tanks... :)

Thanks Vince.. it's crazy sometimes I find myself staring at the tank still trying to figure out which morphs of z's and p's to let go... it's good to have a friend nearby (ahem, Junior) that will help out when you need 'em... Junior is holding some more corals that didn't fit in there that will hopefully house the 12g SnowFlakes tank... the 12g is currently in a mini cycle mode since I just added 20lbs of LS and added some rocks I had left over from previous aquascaping trials.... :)

anyway, for the fish list, here's what I have...
- Trio of HI flame wrasse (1 nice size male and 2 small females)
- Pair of Picasso clown (Female: ORA Grade A; Male: Snowcasso)
- Helfrich's firefish

the fish list looks really good to me... lots of movement and peace among the inhabitants... :)

here's some actinic vids... I thought it'll catch the colors better but some of the corals didn't turn out as bright under the purple actinic PC's... LoLz.. someday, I'll have a T-5 set up that will totally show the awesome colors of these corals... :)
