Well, I got the coral fever and went a lil crazy yesterday. Had a local guy tear down his tank and sold everything in there and was able to grab: Ora joe the coral, Jedi mindtrick monti, pokerstar monti, tequila sunrise from him. Then I stopped by the best lfs in brevard Live Tanks and they got some sick BL misbar clowns in. Finally grabbed a extreme misbar for the lady at the house. And then got a sweet deal on a chalice I believe they are calling my Marazarati. And then to finish it off had another local reefer start his frag tank over and traded him a 40g tank and $50 for this sweet looking red/green meat coral. All in all if you having checked out live tanks look them up def worth it IMHO. Of course pics to come later on when the lights come on. Thanks for looking and happy Monday.

Well, I've been doing 15g WC every 4-5 days to try and get rid of the algae and plus i just hooked up my tlf reactor with 2 cups of gfo. Let see how it does. I've seen a ton of new growth on my Ora bird of paradise. Coming to the conclusion I've got a atresia starfish problem. They have an appetite for zoas and have already claimed these guys.

Well, fragged up some zoas and saw 2 of these guys on it. Think they're astera starfish. I was told they're two kinds of astera a grayish(below) and a white. Heard the white are good to have but the gray ones will eat coral which I believe 110%. Anyone throw in there 2 cents? Thanks

Definitely Astraea. Hard to say if they are harmful or not. I would just getrid of them. Even if they are not the coral eating kind their population can explode out of control and they will eat coralline algae.
