I have a Max E 260 with sump upgrade and I'm looking for a new circulation pump (one of the pumps that acts as a return from the rear sump). This pump also runs through my chiller so it needs to be fairly powerful. I have a Dupla Marin DC Pump that came with the tank but it seems to struggle with the pressure - each time I clean it I get a couple months out of it before it eventually stops working and it seems to be getting worse each time so I'm looking for a replacement.
The obvious choice is the Sicce 3.0 which I believe has the same body as the original pumps - but it's rather energy inefficient and it's AC (and I already have issues with heat). I bought a Jebao pump that I thought would fit but it totally fills the available space and so it will just suction against the glass.
Are there any good DC pump options out there that fit in the rear chamber? Would love to hear from anyone who's replaced these pumps.
