Looks good so far. They like a lot of light (+250 par) so depending on your lights it may do better higher up in the tank?

Mine always moved around, I had a Tomato clownfish that moved them around and even dropped one in her anemone, but they will move if the light and current isn't making them happy.

Does it have a nice white shell growth visible directly under the mantle when it closes? That is something to tell you it is growing/ happy.

Looks fluffy and happy to me. I recently acquired two clams myself, and they both jumped around a bit until they finally settled down. If it's not jumping about (especially when the lights are out) and staying secured, then I'd think you're on the right track so long as generally accepted minimums are being met. :)

I can't answer that honestly without knowing the Par numbers. I can guess and say that the clam's mantle doesn't look over-extended like it wants more light. That plus the fact you mentioned that it hasn't "jumped ship" is a reasonable indicator that it's happy as a clam.

Give the clam as much light as you can. Over 300 par will do them well. You can make a clam guard from aquastick epoxy. These are some of my clams with the epoxy walls. Aquastick epoxy is very pliable and a pleasure to work with. Other epoxy brands are too hard to work with and don’t stick well to rocks IME.
