Maxima Clam not extending Mantle

Hey Guys,

I picked up this ~3” Blue Maxima from my LFS a week or so ago and noticed that it’s not extending its mantle completely around the shell.

I’m dosing Phyto a couple times a week... Looked for pyramid snails but I’m not really seeing anything that would look like them.

Saw this stuff coming off one area of the shell. Not sure if it’s anything...

Mine sits about 250. Move him up and see if you get better results. Careful not to damage his foot/filaments if he’s already attached.

Mine looks exactly like this. What ever became of this clam. Mine also doesn’t extend its mantle on one end.

It looks pretty normal to a newly acclimated clam. I would just leave it be, minimize handling it and let it destress. It not abnormal for a new clam to take a month or two to fully extend.
