Maxmium placement for different SPS species.

I was wondering what's the best maxmium placement for the different SPS species that are in the same tank, like efflo, millies, deepwaters, tenuis, hoeksemai, staghorns, nasutas, prostata, and so on....

I'm kinda assuming that efflos should be in the bottom since they grow in a tabling pattern and might block out the lights under them. Deepwater SPS should be in the bottom. Hoeksemai and Staghorns should be on top since they grow pretty long. Everything else, not too sure. Any thoughts?

OK here goes! Acroporas,(Tenuis, staghorns, prostrata etc.) need to be on top. Deep water acros need to be acclimated more slowly. Start midway and slowly work your way up. They are susceptible to light shock. Milles mid tank level. Now having said that, I am assuming that your lights are an average of 12" from the top layer give or take a few inches.

doesn't really matter for most. what lights are you running?, i generally put everything up top till is golf ball size plus then move down some smooth skin acros "deep waters" really love the light others don't i usually start with those in the bottom third of the tank, millie prostrata most stags and efflo are all light hogs puttem up top

I'm running 4X24W T5 that's 4" above the water line. The tank is 10" tall. A bit overkill I guess right?

To light accumulate the corals, I run 2 T5s for a week + I stick a white sheet of paper on top the of acrylic shield in the light fixture. I moved one of my prostrata on the bottom of the tank and lost some PE. I'm gonna move it little higher since it was happy with 4 T5s blasting half way up in my tank.

sounds good not too much light for sps might **** of some zoas or chalice but whether its 4 or 8 bulbs its the same light the coverage is just more if you can fit 4 bulbs use em t5 is a softer more even lighting source rather than blasting an area and shadowing others with MH or LED (shimmer effect)...
