Maxspect gyre broken again!!

Any help would be appreciated here.

These XF350 pumps are nothing but useless.

One of the pumps doesn't work underwater, kind of makes it pointless.
If I take it out the tank it runs fine, once in the water it stops spinning

Any ideas please?

Have u tried using moly lube on the bearing at each end? Have a jebao like that, have to keep it well lubricated.

Just wait till the controller breaks and they quit working for good
That could be what’s going on here, one channel on the controller stops working. Lots of cases of this if you look into it, how old are they?

I had issues with my XF350 pumps failing and it was due to the motor shaft failing. There is a bush at each end and the shaft had swelled a little making it too tight to spin freely in the bush. Ordering a replacement shaft fixed the problem and I note that the replacement is engineered a little differently with a different style of bushing. I expect this is due to the original having some design flaws. First one went then a few months later the second did.

Since replacing with the new shaft both are working without issues and have been for well over a year. A third pump I have which has the original bush design is still working without issues however. Perhaps although it uses the original bush design it has the improved shaft - it was the shaft swelling that was the problem I think, not the bushes.
