I have one I’ve had up and running for a few weeks now. The 48 gallon Ls-90. When I first filled it , it was leaking at the 45 degree elbow on both of the return pump pvc return pipes that come pre-glued. I used jb marineweld to seal them. It was a very slow drip. So far so good. Everything else about the tank I love but it’s my first reef and setup with a sump. I also got 2 of the 90w maxspect lights, the refugium light and ATO reservoir as well.

i use a lot of maxspect stuff and it all works as intended, the lights work good for some picky anemones so big W there, the bio media both far infared and chitin infused, and frag plugs truly do work good/better than average giving you alot more surface area for beneficiary etc, If my LFS had the tanks i would definitely try one, beautiful tank jar!

I got my tank from BRS, shipped super fast, came in perfect condition and I got it 55% off.

wanted to update, after learning more about the syna g app, it can have faults and go offline randomly, but thankfully, for me it kept my settings while having a weird wifi issue (i think they were updating the firmware/ the servers)

Maxspect bio balls are actually insanely good but do have a shelf life , im estimating to need to swap a bag of them out once every 4 months to maintain no seepage (FIR ones) , oddly enough the chitin infused balls could go forever, and you will likely see the binder fail before the actual product (your phosphates would rise)

I actually think howard/maxspect are being smart, crafty, and using the motherland of production to get it done, I like the products, and am in no way affiliated

I haven’t powered up the stuff yet but im wondering does the controller have the ability to run anything else besides the return pump, skimmer and power heads?

Only other plugs are for the sensors. Like the low water level, skimmer cup full sensor and temp sensors.

That’s the same tank I bought. Hoping all will be well on the pvc connections. How do you like the ATO reservoir? Any pics of how it sits? Do you use it as gravity feed or do you use a sensor with it? I have a Tunze ATO and debating on the Maxspect reservoir….its inky 1.5 gallons and I think that is my hold up.

I purchased one and did the swap this week. So far so good. If you have any questions, let me know.
Good to hear! I was surprised to see the ls-9o (48 gallon) did not have armored seams but it also has like 16mm glass with butt joints. I contacted them about it but said with the extra thick glass and butt joints on a 36 long tank they did not add the armored seams….. the glass is much thicker than the 80 gallon and I guess that is why,}. I think the 8o gallon had only 12mm thickness but does have the armored seams .

Both the LS-90 and LS-120 have 12mm glass. Unless the posted specs are wrong.

Yes the specs do say that but I don’t think they are right, this is my tank- LFS owner measured it for me. 1st one is the 48 gallon (mine) at 15mm and 2nd one is the 80 gallon at 12 mm. The 80 has armored seams the 48 does not but has thicker glass . I contacted Maxspect about it because it had me concerned . That glass is thick

They must have revised their decision on glass thickness. Nice they increased the thickness on the LS-090 if it doesn't have armored seams.

I assume mine is 15mm, but I haven't actually measured it. I just know it's heavy! 😂

It fits in their generally well I haven’t hooked it up yet. I’m probably gonna go with a auto top off not gravity. There’s a bunch of extra parts that I don’t know where they go, some are for the skimmer, but I’m not quite sure how to hook up the ATTO reservoir with the parts they gave me

I have the ls-90 (48 gal) and have their small ATO reservoir and got a tunze ato with that sensor but if I didn’t already buy that I would probably have just hooked up the gravity ATO because I tried placing my ATO where they want it for gravity setup (on top of sump ) and basically since it’s on top once the pump started adding water it created a syphon and the water kept running. I had to move the ATO reservoir to the left of the sump to correct this, but if I knew I was going to do have to do this I would have just bought a larger ATO reservoir to put next to the sump instead of the small one that fits nicely on top. Something to keep it kind

I have the Tunze ATO as well. Did you just put the sensor directly in the section before the return pump? I do like the idea of gravity fed idea and might sell the tunze but I’m not sure I want to deal with such a small ATO capacity. I also like the fact if using the gravity fed one I have that space on the side of sump for “stuff”. Lol. My only other issue is I have an ice cap sump drop in uv that stands about 18 inches that needs to go in that chamber so not sure the ATO will fit on top of it.

Anyone know what size lock line fits the return nozzle or if the return nozzles are even replaceable. They are so short and I’d like to have a little more flexibility and length. I contacted Maxspect but they have not replied yet so thought I’d check in here to see if anyone knows.
