Which schedule do you use? I had a maxspect r420r 130 W before. The corals were almost exploding under that light. Since a couple of months ago do I have a maxspect Rsx 150. The sps corals don't feel really well. Especially the seriatoporas and stylophoras don't grow any more. I have tried different schedules whiteout any clear reaction. Now have reduced channel c and d (90/90/25/15) with that reddish an greenish light. The corals seem to feel more comfortable now and the colouration looks clearer. EhaW do you think?

I have the 200w rsx running for a week now. I did have struggles with a bug in the onboard system which i could solve by restoring( the System didnt start when plugged in) i still find myself unable to set the System clock. I get a crash everytime i try to. Have you had any similar experiences and a possible solution. As far as i could tell the new software for the rsx is not available on maxspects homepage to reinstall the system.

What size tank do you have the 200w on? I have a 48" 90-gallon tank and debating between the 200 and the 300...

My tank is exactly 93cm long so about 3 feet (36” i just googled) Sry european here. Its a 65g. I was deciding between the 150w and the 200w.
I did end up hanging my fixture with a hanging kit to get more diffused light. I am certain u can hang this over a bigger and longer tank than mine succesfully. I ended up getting the bigger one since i wanted to make sure i have enough power to grow sps. I think you could definitely do that with a 200w on your tank. At least thats what id say.

I gotta say you should definitely Not take me for 100% since thats my first reef tank and i got it up for about 5 months now. I do have lps and a stylopora aswell as a bta and i switched to very high blue tones. I think i use 90% on both blue and deep blue. I have like below 5% on the red/green channel and then use white to get a ncer look. I think i have about 30-40% also i have 6 hours of full intensity(90b 90db 40w 5r/g) and 2 hours before and after with about 10-15% less intesity so(80b 80db 30w 3r/g)

If you would like my exact schedule feel free to ask for it but since im no expert thats what i use.

No problems with the growth of your Stylophora?

I went from the 160watt 16k version and I feel it’s worth it. 20 diodes per puck (old one is 13 diodes) plus 2 more channels to play with. I’m keeping my 16k as my spare as I know it can still grow SPS.

No, not according to my experience. I had a 130 w razor before and upgraded to 150 w RSX (now 6 months ago). I can just say the corals grew better under the razor, especially the SPS. But as I said, that's my experience.

This seems to be one of the very few threads out there on the Maxspect RAZOR X R5 that I can find. So I'm bumping it up to see if anyone has any long term experiences to share. I'm going SPS dominate in my Red Sea 250. I'm debating between the 150w or 200w and would love any feedback anyone has. Thanks.

How are you guys doing with the razors? I have a 36 bowfront that is 30 iches wide so the 150 would be perfect since it is 28 inches. I saw an open box today that is 200, and 200 is 32 inches. Do you think I should buy that one. It would have an inch hanging over but dont think it would be noticeable. I would have 200 watts instead of 150.00. The 2 pucks in the middle are to close together IMO and dont really need that much wattage but its cheaper than paying full price for the 150! haha I have been looking into lights for weeks and this has been one of the ones that like the spectrum of the best. I noticed it had 3 blues and 2 uvs I think. Brs gave it the best review they ever have they said for the uv blue spectrum!
What I like the least is it being on legs. I would much rather have the mount style. I like the etheral and thought of using just one since its so big and when I upgrade to my 120 I would only need one more! Thats why I dont really want one on legs is it wont work for my upgrade. How is the shimmer for this light? I can only find the brs video and lookslike none! Very important. I like a little shimmer. Not a ton like kessil or radion but a little and how is the color pop. Real important as well. Brs said the felt that the spectrum would give increased color pop!

Pics PLease! That would be awesome..Show of your Razors!

Not the best pic to display coral because im just getting started but this is my light hanging bracket that i setup for the rsx 200 that hangs it at the ideal 12inch mark. Its been setup like this for a couple of weeks.

Tank under RSX200 light with brs reccomended setting. Brightness on phones is turned down so that shimmer can be seen better. No filter, so image is a bit bluer than reality. Hope it helps!
