I have a 40 breeder tank. 6 fish. One happens to be about a 5" yellow&purple wrasse.
I seen the most beautiful full on male Mccosker Wrasse flashing for the 2 ladies in the tank and also because there was another kind of wrasse in the tank. He was cool around the Pajamas Cardinal and 2 Anthies. I wanted it so bad. Did I do the right thing by walking away? It is killing me right now! This is was one of those fish I will be thinking about for awhile. It was a 10/10 and probably the nicest wrasse I have ever seen. A yellow/gold body to it. No red except in the fins and it was a brilliant red. The blue lines also amazing. This pic is the closest one to what I had seen.

Me personally I think you made the right decision. You already have a large established wrasse and are pretty well stocked. However I am by no means a wrasse expert so I'll call in some others who can help you out.

I agree, walking away was the best decision for your sized tank with a well established wrasse already in there.

It might have been okay, but it's easy enough to leave things alone if all is well. :)
