A few deer this morning in back of property. My house is in the background. I have a surveillance cam in the woods.

No problem at all.

Just over 4 acres. About 2.5 of lawn, 1 of wild forest with a small creek, and .75 of orchard and garden. I was looking for bigger property, but really like this one. Lots of wildlife out back.

It’s a DK6010 HST. I first bought a Kubota LX2610 SU, but was a little light for its intended purpose and preferred the ergonomics of the Kioti as I had one in my previous home (CK 3520) in AZ.

Yes, I’ve been playing around with solar. It’s just four 550w panels. It supplies power to a small 7.2wh battery backup hooked to my network, main computer, and security/ surveillance system.

That's a nice chunk of land.

I also like the tractor. I have to admit I never heard of them.

A number of moons ago, in what seems a separate life, I had a 40 acre farm in NE WI. Raised all kinds of animals. I traded an 18' jointer for a 1952 Allis Chalmers WD-45 with the Power Crater motor. It had a narrow front end on it when I got it. I acquired an original wide front-end, rebuilt the motor, added hydraulics and restored it. It was a heck of a tractor and I put it to good use. That's a story for another day.

That's pretty cool on your tractors. Them old tractors will last for decades. You can ride them hard and put them away wet and they keep going. As long as they don't sit forever. Also pretty cool that you worked on them and restored. Lots of pride in doing that type of work. I didn't know of Kioti before I bought one either. It's a heck of a tractor and like them so much that this is my third (moving and buying bigger is the reason for the 3).

Currently we have a few chickens and turkeys here. In AZ we had lots more critters. Horses, cows, chicken, geese, ducks, goats, etc. I was costing me a fortune just to keep things fed. We've reduced the critters quite a bit, thankfully.

Here's a pic of the garden area and small grove, a 100 yard range out back (just shoot the air rifle there) and a pic of the house from the garden.

PS - I will see you coming as I have cameras everywhere. If I see you I will break out some beer.

That move was from NW WI back to Chicago, where I was born and raised. I've lived in a number of states. (Physically and mentally!) I've lived in the city, suburbs, remotely, in a condo, in a townhouse, in a house, in a mobile home and on a farm. My favorite was on the farm. However, I do love where I live now and being on water too, but would like more land and not to have to live under the laws and regulations of a city. Some would say I've moved around a lot.

The amount of money I spent on feed was high too even though I grew, baled and stored hay and alfalfa. I had also bought and reworked an old IH swather and an old McCormick baler. I really like old tractors. The one I had (WD 45 w/ Power Crater motor) prompted me to learn all about Alice-Chalmers tractors and equipment. They were really the best tractors and a very innovative company. More innovated than John Deere. i.e. - First tractors to use rubber tires. Good story goes along with this one. My favorite all-time, older tractor is an Alice-Chalmers D-21.

Your neighbor has a freaking D-21? You better get some pics of it and it would be even better if you're on it.

If you mean he has an AC, it's probably a D-17. There are still a lot of them around and you can't kill 'em. They're bulletproof.

So i've decided to go REALLY BIG!

Any idea what this is. It’s a pinkish slime. It’s only in the back chamber of the sump. Lots of flow back there and where I dose and have heaters.

Looks a lot like bacteria that can be caused by dosing and, more particularly, dosing too much carbon.

I'd write more but am being requested to finish watching a good series we've been watching.
