Megabite's 180 Reef - Round 2

Good assessment @tharbin .

Chris, here's a visual of back and front mounted and some older pictures of when I installed the AFS to get an idea of aesthetics on the tank.

This helps immensely. Thank you!

Good point. I need to get it on the back of the tank but yes, it and the light, are heavy enough to give you the heebie jeebies when you bump it. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd mount some T-Slot to the back of the stand and hang it and the Primes like I did on the lagoon tank.
Is this your unique way of letting us know that you like to pucker your butt?

Be warned. Picture BOMB incoming.

So I'm considering getting a good 50mm lens and took a few shots at 50mm with an old lens I have to see if it's worth getting. The jury is still out, but I'd like to be able to take wider angle shots than the 100mm that I mostly use.

These are all top down shots with the new porthole.

Glad it was useful to you. Let me know if you have any other questions about them.

Love it! Are those Korilla Koralia powerheads? I think I still have on stored away.
Thought so! I wonder if they are still around? They were really good for inexpensive pumps back in the day.

I vote a big YES for getting a 50mm lens.

I think I recall you saying that you use or have used FB Marketplace for cameras and equipment. In case you cannot find one on Marketplace, the place below sells used cameras, lenses and equipment. Since I do not own a camera and know very little about the subject, I have never bought anything from them. However, I have a number of people in my life that are very much into photography and have used B&H. At one time, I was looking at getting into photography and two of them told me to not hesitate to buy from B&H. Maybe you already know about them and all of this is a moot point. In any case, I have gone through the trouble of supplying the link to their used cameras, lenses and equipment below because I am feeling generous tonight.

Thanks man. I’m familiar with B&H. Great outfit and have bought from them in the past. Lots of really good deals on FB usually as people get into it, buy really nice equipment, and get bored.

Just keeping an eye open for a smoking deal.

Turkey and deer confrontation.

I throw some corn out behind our house to attract critter to see from our deck. Our turkeys go there to eat the corn and I don't think she liked the deer eating it or being around her babies. 🤣

I once had a run-in with a killer turkey with my buddies. There it was, just sitting there looking all innocent and docile. We sent our friend, Boar, to handle the turkey. Next thing you know... Oh, wait, now that I think about it, it was a rabbit.

There was another thread discussing lids and if they are essential or not. I think a lid is important, but that's besides the point. One of the things mentioned against a lid is that it cuts par a lot. So, I took a little time today to see how my lid actually affect my par. The test was a 10 second video with all pumps running and I recorded the value at each second.

Par meter Apogee 510. There was an average 9% lost of light intensity.

Here are the results.
