I am honestly a little surprised the clear mesh cuts out almost 10% of the par!

I notice the difference when I have the lid off. But I think those Meridians are up for the challenge .

They absolutely are. I have plenty of headroom left to throw down more light. 9% is more than I thought as @08TRDOFFROAD mentioned, but it's not bad. I figured maybe 4% to 5%.

It’s kind of wild that my peaks are only barely 20% on many of the leds with my Meridian. My LPS complain when it goes much higher.

I just read that it's much more, but don't know. They were throwing out figures from 20% to 40%. I have no idea how accurate that is but would love to test. Just don't have any black mesh to try.

Just out of curiosity, I’ve seen several profiles that I’ve perused that have that up and down white lighting. Why?

As for the lighting peaks. It suppose to mimic a more natural lighting environment with peaks and valleys of intensity. David Saxby developed it years ago for his 1,200 gallon tank. I can't quantify that it's better than just running regular ramps like most are, but I did change my lighting to a more tradition ramp for about 2 weeks and I'm pretty sure the corals liked it better with the whites ramping up and down.

I also do run pretty high par so maybe it give a bit of a rest between peaks. Just look him up. There's a lot of info on his tank and the lighting.

I ran the Saxby schedule on my AI Prime when I had my Biocube running. My nems seemed to like it. I'm just too lazy to try to manually program something like that myself!

Playing with camera setting today. Specifically lowering my ISO setting to 200 - 400 and using manual focus. Goal is to get richer and sharper pictures using the tools the camera provides.
