My dad was in the other end of things. He was a graphic designer for 34 years at Boston University. In fact he started the in house publication production there when a buddy he worked with in Pittsburgh who was then a dean at BU asked him to. He started in advertising and had some interesting stories about that as well. Then it grew around him into a multifaceted beast. He had a small connection to Nat Geo as well as a photographer who was a friend would do work for them. He also freelanced for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, among other things designed the original Tanglewood logo in the 70s. And a few others including Zparuder Films who specialised in documentaries. Also actual artist, graduating from Cleveland Institute of Art.

Very cool, Steve. I love these type of "dad" tributes. I suppose it's a fitting time for them as Father's Day isn't too far off.

My mom and dad were married for 67 years. I tease my mom and tell her the only reason he died is because it was cheaper than a divorce. She’s still kicking at 92 but has dementia now and needs 24/7 care.

You might be wondering why I keep referring to my dad as “the little guy.” This might help. I think this was taken about a year before he died so, in 2020.

I suppose and I get my height from my dad. He would to tell people, “I used to be a little guy but then, when I was about 15, I shot up like a weed.” He was 5’4” when he entered the Army for Korea. When he died, I’d say he was probably 5’2”.

Another quick "dad" story. So, my dad had cameras. A lot of cameras. A big collection of antique cameras and also all the cameras he had used throughout his life. Lenses? Pfffttt... too many to count. When my sister was packing my mom to move to TX last year, she threw everything into the dumpster they had. I was very upset, at first, but then figured that I never mentioned my interest and I wasn't able to be there to help.
Still miss the little guy.

67 years is a crazy amount of time and most that are reading this likely haven't even lived that long including me and I'm an old coot. Sorry about your mom's mental decline. That is really hard stuff for all invovled to live with.

I vote to keep the red arrows. The format has already been decided upon by Tim's rude butting in and answering another question that was not posed to him. We have grown to expect and embrace it as he has been known to give away nice stuff.
