Weekly AD update. Nice progress this week and things start to settle down besides an aiptasia I just saw in the picture near the base.

Maybe it's my eyes or my old laptop screen but I swear it looks like a lot more color appeared this past week. Another thing that is hard not to notice is that snail really moves like a snail. I'd say it covered about 12mm in a week. HA!

I know a few people with Stripeys in mixed systems. Matt is one of them and I'm confident he'll tell you of his experience. Another is @danieyella . Maybe she will offer some input. There may be others that might have encountered difficulty with a Stripey. Perhaps they're a bit like some angels in that it depends on the individual fish. I'm sure you've known reefers with angels that are not "supposed to be" reef safe. Yet, there they are without incident.

Yes, colors are getting back to normal. Dosed aminos sparingly a couple of times that I think helped that. Still hunting Dino’s but at a smaller extent and my alk/ cal consumption dropped a pretty good amount with the removal of that very large birds nest. Hopefully things continue moving in a good direction. My more recent foe are the aiptasia. I’ve always had one here and there but they are starting to multiply.

The Stripey seems like a pretty cool fish from reading about it, though not an inexpensive fish. I feed way too much, so I’d likely be fine with one. Also, read that they’re schooling fish. I’m wondering if there’s any negatives on just one.

Pretty much anything, except Berghia, that eat Aiptasia, MAY eat LPS. They're more or less the same food group to them.

That's what I'm a bit concerned with. It's a pretty mixed reef tank so a bunch of LPS that I like. Thanks for chiming in!

I think it's a really cool looking fish. A trio seems awesome! A ten footer!!!!!

Thanks. They can take more than you may think. I have 8 PH's cranked up and the gonis are in constant flow. If I have time tomorrow, I will take a quick vid of what these are getting.

I definitely probably need more flow. I’m trying to make a hammer garden on this side and here is my new Goni and Favia. I’m surprised how little flow gets in that section.

Your tank is shaping up nicely! I don't know if you need more flow but they can definitely take more. My Goni's sit at about 200 - 250 par. @steveschuerger for advice on flow as one of the Goni experts on here.

Thanks, I’m going to start going pretty hard on getting more coral since I’m getting my alkalinity stabilized.

My MP40s are up on the sides and set to reef crest mode so they occasionally get more flow than what I showed but often times it’s just like the video. I feel like that teal hammer on top opened up a lot more when I had it on the frag rack in the middle of the tank so I might change some stuff around to make it happier again.

My plate coral on the other side seems pretty happy though!

The plate looks fat and happy. I got my candy cane the same size as yours about 11 months ago. It's been a fast grower for me.

I’ve got another question, since my alkalinity dropped but then I got it back up, my Monti has gone from the second pic to the 1st pic. Do we think this is too far gone or is a recovery possible?

I think it will be fine. Swings will stress things out, but as long as you stay stable moving forward, you should good. Really doesn’t look that bad at all.
