I got myself 3kgs of freshly collected live rock will all sorts of cool macro algae, bristle worms and other interesting stuff. I decided to do a dip in hyposalinity to keep the bacteria, but I accidentally used rock salt instead of reef salt and killed everything. Would the bacteria still survive 1.020 rock salt or is it toast?

Depends on the impurities in the rock salt. but to be on the safe side, assume yes. and.... you might have poisoned the rock. if there was any copper, lithium, mercury, arsnic, etc... in there.

Doing a hyposalinty dip probably would kill a lot of beneficial stuff depending on the salinity. I just QT my live rock like everything else with normal salinity
