I'm in the process of building a new hood for my 46 gal bf. I have a 175w MH mogal and 4X36"t-5s. I was planning to replace the center brace with a piece of lexan to get even lighting. I am planning to put the MH dead center and have 2 - T-5s on either side. Should I put 2 or 4 fans for cooling? Should I use the 65K or the 22K bulb (came with the MH)? How high should I mount the fixture? I want to be able to keep anything (SPS,Clams ect). I have read most of the MH forum at the beginning of this forum and can not make up my mind since there are tooooooooo many differant opinions.

Thanks,

Place the MH and the T5's approx. a foot above the water level and use as many fans as you want. Don't know why you would need the lexan as long as you know your strongest lighting will be in the middle and get less intense as it spreads to the sides. Just know that when you use more fans you may have more evaporation.
