T5s can be just as powerful as metal halides with good reflectors, and a quality bulb choice. Some people have noticed better growth and color..

I'm with you... I switched to all T5 two years ago and would never go back.

I just purchased a power module :)

Unless I missed it, you don't mention what you're having a problem with? Is it the color? Is the the lack of shimmer?

If color, you definitely should look at going heavy on the Blue Plus. For shimmer, you're pretty much stuck unless you supplement with LEDs to get a shimmer source.

Looks a bit dim. The ati blue + are a much brighter bulb than the super actinic your running now. Maybe swap both out for two more blue +. T5's are very nice setup's, i ran them for 3+ yrs but switched back to mh's. And to be honest i'm getting much better growth from the halide's. I don't think i'll ever go back to t5's. I do think t5's have a better blue spectrum to choose from.

Luke33- it looks a bit dim cause of my camera skills. I will admit though that t5's don't have the "sparkle" of MH but it looks just as bright.

sps that was once dull is now gaining color. i miss the shimmer though.

What is the problem? I have a 75 with 8-T5's, always have had t-5's and have never had a problem. Here are a couple of pictures of my tank.
And yes that is a clam and I have had it for over a year now. I can tell you that it takes some time for things to get used to it but they will.

Nice looking tank. I would like to suggest that you may want to move those monti caps towards the bottom. As they grow out they will shaddow everything below them plus they do well in lower light areas and will give you more room for more light demanding corals.

I was wondering that after i wrote that, but still the blue +'s have some good par value and are bright.
