I don't mean you should keep stirring it up. I think by saying "stir it up" I've gotten you fixated on that.I'm sure that it would eventually get taken out if I kept stirring it back up - but that's not quite what the claims are, and this is what I am testing :)
My main point is it takes about 1 month for that detritus pile to accumulate? Well just this once get rid of the pile (by syphoning it out or mixing it up doesn't matter), keep bubbling for a month and see if you get another pile in a month.
My thinking is that if bubbling is going to have an effect it will be on the stuff still on suspension and will just help get more of it down to the sump, which would fit in with the claims. Previously some of the detritus in your tank would go down to the sump and some would end up in the pile. Maybe bubbling will help it all go down to the sump? If the latter is the case then maybe it's not quite as amazing as you hoped but it would still be working in a way.
