Good after noon y’all, just saw brightwell just released microbacter purple. I see it will feed your corals while adding beneficial bacteria. Just wondering if anyone got there hands on it and see if there is any long term benefits down the road.

This is the competitor to the PNS ProBio Purple bottle. It does help feed coral and provide good PE for acropora. I am hoping it hits amazon too since PNS is expensive to keep as a subscription.

That’s what it says I mean can’t hurt trying it out since it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. Maybe a dosing put is a good idea as another member said
It's literally the same as microbe lift special blend. Save your money and buy that. You can buy it at any Petco right now and it's half the price of the other two and it's been on the market longer.

Microbe lift special blend is awesome. I have not had a cyano outbreak in 2 years since I started using it. Also brought my nitrates down from the usual 60 to under 20. Completely anecdotal but I keep using it with great success. Mix with calcium carbonate.

They are both the same thing as microbe lift special blend which cost about half a much as those other two and easier to find. You can get it at almost every big box pet store. Don't waste your money.
How do you know this? I wasn't able to find what strains microbe lift special blend has in it.

I asked and was given an answer by one of the other suppliers. I'm not going to say which one because I don't have a complete quote and they were pretty honest about it. That being said they did say that they "might" use a different strain but that yes they are both "purple non sulphur bacteria". Ask yourself this, can you get the exact strain that either of the other two use? As in specific DNA sequence differences? Or is it "ours is definitely different "? Actually can you get any specific strains of bacteria used by any bacteria in a bottle suppliers. The reason why I asked was because I used microbe lift first ( I also have a koi pond and they are big in that hobby) and when I bought the other one I noticed that they smelled and looked exactly the same.

I can't use the calcium carbonate version because it fouls the mazzei injector on my life reef. But before I realized that it definitely works well with the microbe lift.

If you don't believe me buy both and compare. Just use the microbe lift first and then compare if there is any difference. I just can't stand when we get hosed by marketing and brand name. In this industry there is a lot of companies that put their name on stuff that they repurpose from other industries like horticulture and fresh water and they then jack up the price.

Also, there is plenty of youtube videos on how to make your own. It is used in the horticultural industry as well. PNS does great things for your tank. Also Hydrospace has a home grow kit for about $150 bucks that makes 2.5 gallons which makes it cheaper than Microb-lift which is about $70 bucks a gallon
