Dosing MB7 which calls in the instructions for turning off the skimmer for at least 4 hours. However when I turn the skimmer off, my already low-ish pH tends to dip quite a bit.

Can I just take the cup off the skimmer and let it continue to run without adversely affecting the bacteria dosing?

I would leave it on. I can’t see that it’s so efficient as to strip it all out, especially if you dose it straight into the display.
