Ok so I always thought mussas whether micro or blasto where low light corals like acans. Well I have a couple different mussas and acans. All are on the sand or on a rock no higher then 2" off the sandm I have one micro (at least I think it is a micro) that is stretching. I mean stretching. Every polyps is about 1.5"-2" long. Does it need more light? Do some mussas want more light?

I am not sure, I have seen Alpha Coral's Acans stretch though and I don't think it is for more light, just some happy corals.

When you say 2" off the sand, how far below the bulbs is that? I have a micromussa colony that is about 26-28" under my 250w MH bulbs in lumenbright reflectors. They never stretch out. I have my acan lords considerably lower in my tank, almost 35-40" below the bulbs and none of my mine stretch.

The article on salt corner says they come from shallow reefs, higher light, slower water movement

They are about 26"-27" below the light. This one piece is the only one that does it. None of the other frags or mini colonies do it.
