Microscope recommendations

we were looking at scopes because i got micro worms millions like ant trail but its worms on the glass. i posted forum on critter forum. we were looking at a 250$ scope 40x to like 2500x. is that overkill what should i need for all reefing needs????
is this way over reefing needs? anyone point me to a good reefing one.
