Mid-Michigan Swap - Jan 30th

The Mid-Michigan Marine Club is having its 5th Annual Frag Swap and Raffle on Sunday, January 30, 2011.

The swap will be at the same place we have had it in the past:

Fraternal Order of the Eagles Hall
4700 N Grand River Ave
Lansing, MI 48906

Doors will open to swappers at 12:00 and the swap will go till 4:30. Vendor setup will start at 9:30 am. (We may also allow setup the day before, this will be announced once it is known for sure.)

General admission is $3 per person, kids under 16 get in free.

This is Michigans biggest swap!! It is centrally located in the state and brings everyone together to Meet in the Middle!! We have about 300+ admissions each year and raffle off some cherry corals and other prizes.

Here is one of my treasures from the swap....a beautiful rock anemone, red, orange, green & white. This came from the Tropicorium after much discussion with Dick Perrin, a pioneer in reefing history. This is an incredibly colored rock anemone! Dick has indicated that he has 14 more at the store. Dick is known for originating domestic coral propagation in the nation if not the first in the world. He was instrumental in the marine/reef aquarium hobby!

I was very happy for the opportunity to get this one as it was the only one like it at the swap. While it was a bit over my budget, it is now one of the most notable corals in my tank.

Another hidden treasure......I got this one with all it's polyps closed up and looking ugly. The seller advissed that it was their best zoas, the last frag available, and that I woul be surprised at how good it was. Well, I took home glued it on a plug and went to bed. The next morning it appeared that the sun was shining in my tak!!!! Sunny D's!!
