I have a Midas Benny that has been in my tank for about a day and his color isn’t what I expected. I know they can change colors when stressed but I also heard some are blue if they come from certain parts of the worlds oceans.

has anyone have them golden up? It’s still a beautiful fish, just not what I expected

edit: Blenny*

I have what they call a blue Midas blenny. Yours favors a blue but does have a lot more yellow than the one I have. I am sure it will color up in the next few weeks. It’s prolly just from shipping and the stress.

it can depend on stress, diet, and where they are originally from. the african are the most yellow from what i hear. i have two and the one in my smaller tank is much more yellow.

My Midas blenny was brown when I got him out of the shipping bag. After 3 days he colored up to a beautiful pinkish yellow color. It’s unreal. I never thought he would look so beautiful, I either got really lucky, or yours needs some time to settle in. Im sure it’s the latter.

Mine was yellow on WSIWYG and it arrived yellow. About a week in my tank and now for the last year it morphed to a deep purple with a hint of yellow around the gills and top dorsal fin.
