I second this, sadly. It does look like being munched on.pic #4 break off that piece,if possible check for nudi's.
if not possible, wait hour after lights out look on and under affected areas .w flash light
some of those edges appear to be being eaten ...
don't know where nudi's woulda come from.pic #4 break off that piece,if possible check for nudi's.

the pieces that look munched on aren't reachable.I second this, sadly. It does look like being munched on.
Anything new added? They could have come in on that, if that is what is doing it. But if you did not see any during lights out, do you have any fish that could be perching on them for extended periods of time? Only asking, as typically all of my montis having issues have always started at the edges and went it. Not saying it cannot happen away from the edge, just has not in my experiences of messing things up.the pieces that look munched on aren't reachable.
the bigger one at the top doesn't show anything on the edges.
bleaching is a half inch off the edge.
flashlight search this morning, lights out for five hours, shows nothing.
there are also a few smaller pieces i fragged off of my first monti months ago, no pics as to where they are in the tank, that have completely bleached.
Like witnessed it munching on it in a healthy area? Or saw it munch on it at a bald spot?wife sez it's Big Eye Todd (her name for the tang) that's hitting the monti's.
healthy spot.Like witnessed it munching on it in a healthy area? Or saw it munch on it at a bald spot?
If bald spot, it is just picking algae off. If healthy spot, not good.
That's no good man. Do you feed nori?healthy spot.
not any visible algae, besides the glass, anywhere in the tank.
no. i feed from the scrubber. That's no good man. Do you feed nori?
If it is the tang, wonder if it is due to it wanting some mineral or something the monti has? I say try some nori for a few days and see what happens. Nori is full of iodine, magnesium and a ton of other things the fish needed.no. i feed from the scrubber.
