Picked up another MP40 due to the price drop. This will make 3 MP40's. Two on the back wall and one on the left panel. This will provide an unobstructed view from the living room thru the front panel and from the kitchen and dining room I'll be able to see through the right panel.

People asked why I didn't go with the gyre for the same price, I just don't feel comfortable with the first release of a product and with vortechs being tried and true it was a no brainier for me. With the next few releases and updates of the gyre, hopefully with a controllable controller (if that makes sense) and maybe some other improvements I will def try one out.

I just tried one out and was so impressed I got rid of my 2 vortechs. Only need the one gyre 150 on my tank (40 x 26 x 20) and its turned down to 60%. Flow is better with this one pump then both vortechs at 100%. You'll be a believer too:)

I'm sure I'll be a believer with a few versions of the gyre, I'm a firm believer that with these types of gadgets and technology, I'll wait till they work out the kinks out and make it more automated.

I've seen them in action, very impressed. I just like to wait. Lol

That's a great looking sump! As for the Apex I just ordered mine and would need some tips as far as programming goes. Following this build as well, good progress thus far.

Funny story...was going to fill it today and as I was mocking up the RO unit it decides to fall off the shelf and it snapped off a few fittings on the RO membrane housing. So I have parts already on order. So have to wait they come in

Long overdue for an update on this build. So here goes.

Had a quick battle making water for the initial fill due to well water pressure being sub par. Well after 3 days and asking people for water it was filled. Started the cycle with some aged live rock from a friends sump.

The cycle took about 3 weeks which I feel went pretty quick. As of this past Sunday I introduced a royal gramma and it's doing very well. Hides in his cave and is eating.

I spent a lot of time organizing and gathering the equipment I felt would compliment this build.

I would estimate that I'm about 180-190 total gallons.

Enough talk here are some pics!!

I actually just hung an ATI Dimmable Sunpower over the tank. Spent an hour on the phone with a buddy programming it. I'm impressed
