Millepora comparisom

I’m debating between ASD rainbow, sunset, and JF solar flare milleporas. Having a hard time finding tru comparisons between the 3. Does anyone have any combos of above under the same lighting so I can get a sense of what I would pick? Thanks!

I’ve had sunset in the past.. just got a asd rainbow and never had or seen the jfox one.. the sunset and asd are very similar..

I don't have pics but you can never go wrong with an ASD Rainbow Milli. And they're usually pretty cheap from local reefers.

I had a ASD "Rainbow" milli a few years back that was like a very nice sunset. I've bought another recently and it's like the pictures I saw and expected the first go around: orange boarding on pink with bright green polyps. Day or night it has the colors. So be very particular about seeing the mother colony in person if possible. If not, under multiple spectrums as I feel there are multiple ASD Rainbows out there.

I just saw your location; the reefer I got mine from has an amazing acro tank and is located in placentia. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to have his username. Very reasonably priced IMO.

With good flow, it does grow pretty compact like a table somewhat. If not enough light, it might shoot upwards at first and then table out.

I havent had both but I have seen them in different tanks, jf solar flare might actually be slightly brighter in the orange/pink coloration than the asd rainbow, at least from what i have seen. Not a very noticeable (only when right next to eachother can you even see it) and IMO not worth paying a lot more for the jf over the asd rainbow, just would depend on price for me which is why I only have the ASD rainbow at the moment

ASD Rainbow gets my vote. The colors hold even under white light.

Here is mine a month or so after I added it to the tank. I do not have a recent pic. The red/pink is much deeper now.

Do a search there’s a thread with people that have colonies of both I saw the other day. They are a bit different when they’re grown out and doing well.

In my experience, the JF Solar Flare grows much faster and is easier to care for. I like the look of Aqua SD Rainbow Millipora better but it is more sensitive to changes.
