I had no idea how to ask this question but saw on a youtube video someone reference Axial Corallites. I have 3 Millepora in my 180 and the "tentacles/fuzzy stuff" all grow out well but they have mostly lost the Axial Corllites (I think thats what its called) or the edgy parts of the Millepora.

I have gone through a very ULN period while stripping some algae from the tank that I think may have caused this but have raised my Nitrates 5-10 and have my Phosphates at .02 pretty consistently now for a few months.

Has anyone ever seen this before? Is this a sign of too much light or not enough light?

Usually it's from the coral sitting dormant and no new growth. Once they start growing you should see regular radial corallites start forming again.

When you say has "Lost" the axial coralite do you mean they have no color? Bleached?
I'm not positive what you're talking about but you might be referring to burnt tips. When your nutrients hit very low what was your alk at?

Do you mean you see polyps out everywhere except for the axial corallite? I have the same thing happening to a Disney jr frag and curious to see what the deal is. Weird thing is the sister frag doesn’t show this behavior.
