Today was the first day I’ve taken a close look at the mimic in my QT this week and I’m pretty sure it has HLLE. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks and it’s been eating anything I throw in the tank including: PE mysis, Frozen limpets reef blend, cyclops, new life spectrum pellets, algae sheets, and flake food. I feed 2x per day as it’s in with 3 wrasse and a lawnmower blenny (all looking healthy except for a distended stomach on the lawnmower blenny) feedings consist of Frozen 1x per day & dry food 1x per day (I alternate between limpets and flake/ PE mysis and pellets)

Here are some pics:

It’s showing symptoms on its right side. There’s a bit of black along the tip of its right pectoral fin as well that wasn’t able to be clearly pictured

This thread is mostly for documentation as the HLLE is likely due to the carbon I am running in the HOB filter (although any input/ suggestions is encouraged and appreciated). I’ll be removing the carbon shortly and will start soaking any frozen food fed in selcon starting Saturday after pick up the selcon.

Here are some pics of the lawnmower blenny too (it’s been like this for ~4 days)

It used to be a bit larger but it’s still at a point where I’m semi-concerned. If anyone wants to chime in on him I’d appreciate that as well.

Update: started feeding selcon yesterday, not many changes visibly except for the addition of a bump of sorts along the bottom of its dorsal fin. Left side still appears normal.

Seems to be getting progressively worse even with the addition of selcon

He’s hiding much more than he usually does and is a lot more hesitant to go out during feeding time

Gosh that’s perplexing. Does this Fish have access to nori to graze for 1/2 to 3/4 the day? This is a very important staple for a tang, without it they can deteriorate, sometimes rather quickly.

Generally I throw in an algae sheet every other morning.. It’s usually eaten by the time I get home
