I was always told that two Sunbursts if not a mated pair will fight. I have a large Sunburst for awhile now and wanted to add a second, but because of the fighting issue and distinguishing a male from female I decided just to get another one much smaller assuming that it wouldn't be a threat. I got lucky the larger stayed to one side of the tank and the smaller to the other, but within a few months the smaller really started to grow and color up being a brighter yellow and pinker than the larger. They now share the same cave most of the time with no fighting at all...
