This should be a great discussion! What are the best fish for nano tanks? Which ones do you like best and why?

I've been working on my stock list for my next nano.

Here are some of the popular ones I'm sure will likely be among the most popular:

• Midas Blenny
• Yasha Goby
• Ocellaris Clownfish

And although I'm not sure how popular these are, I think they should be included here:

• Barnacle Blenny
• Eviota Goby

The midas blenny will probably get to big for a nano (mine is less than a year old and already over 4" in length). Barnacle blenny is a good alternate.

Firefish, shrimpgobies, and grammas are great. I’d love to see a school of dwarf neon dartfish in a nano.
My favorite nano fish would be the Pygmy red rooster wasp fish, but those are just a little impossible to find.

I’m sure you all know my opinion on clowns…

Masked gobies. They are always out in the water column, are hardy, not finicky and don't beat on other tankmates.

Yashas are my personal favourite. I also love a pair of bluestripe pipefish - very hardy guys.
